Dr. Edith Berkely was born in 1875. She published 46 scientific papers, both alone and with her husband, an agricultural chemist. She also had several organisms named for her. Dr. Berkely died in 1963 but her achievements were recognized by the University of British Columbia, which established the Edith Berkely Memorial Lectures in 1969.
